AQUACULTURE
POND LINERS
For
efficient aquaculture farm management and water quality controls, hatchery,
grow out ponds, tanks and raceways performance are significantly improved
by the use of Geopoly HDPE geomembrane plastic pond lining system.
The benefits of installing a HDPE geomembrane plastic pond lining system
includes easier pond maintenance and reduction in operating costs; better
water quality control, reduces turbidity and risks of disease; effective
water leakages and bund slope erosion control; saves time in pond preparations
between harvest; reduces sludge, waste and sediment contamination at

bottom;
ultimately leading to better farm performance and profitable crop harvests.
The
recommended HDPE geomembrane liner material thickness to 100% line an
aquaculture pond is 0.75 mm. The customer may consider using HDPE geomembrane
liners of 0.30 mm or 0.50 mm thickness with 7.10 metres standard roll
width, if the requirement is to cover the pond bund and slope only.
For slope protection purposes, an alternative would be to use Geopoly LDPE of 0.20 mm to 0.30 mm thickness with available roll width ranging from
0.75 metres to 7.00 metres.

FLOATING
COVERS, COVERED LAGOONS AND BIOGAS UTILIZATION
Issues of contamination
from organic wastes and factory sludge has arisen from increased agro and factory production.
The
effluent or discharge from such wastes and sludge lagoons are consistently
being monitored by the Municipal Authorities and Environmentalists
for a proper waste management, treatment and disposal system. There
is a concern of ground water and river contamination by such untreated leachates
and waste by-products.

Geopoly HDPE geomembrane lining systems are
useful to line holding ponds, sludge ponds, aerobic or anaerobic treatment
ponds and evaporation ponds in waste treatment facilities.
Geomembrane
liners are also used as floating covers or cappings onto wastes lagoons
or sludge pits to reduce air pollution, foul smell and to control
flies, rodents and pests. HDPE geomembrane floating covers may be
utilized in tandem with a biogas or methane gas collection facility
to generate electricity.
